"I wanted to reach out to you and express my sincerest gratitude for your support of my son. I can (and do often) say with complete certainty that moving him over to PHA was the single greatest thing I’ve done for him as a parent.
Forget about hockey for a minute (the horror, I know!!) – you all provide a loving, flexible, and customized learning experience that allows kids to be successful in their own unique way.
Please keep doing what you are doing. My son is ready for next year. He is an independent learner. He knows he can get through hard things. And he will play hockey. Of course, he will play hockey.
I can’t thank you enough. Truly, I don’t have the words, and even typing this email is bringing tears to my eyes. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE – a life-changing difference."
"The Philadelphia Hockey Academy (PHA), in partnership with Commonwealth Charter Academy(CCA), has provided a cohesive, flexible learning environment and schedule that not only was memorable, engaging, and fun but also exposed my hockey player to insights into “life after hockey” from retired professionals, leadership training, field trips, community engagement discussions and volunteering as well as specialized athletic (on and off-the-ice) and emotional preparation from former and current industry professionals.
PHA is a safe, well-rounded, professionally supported program that continues to impress my entire family. Thank you, PHA!"
"PHA has been an amazing experience for our daughter. We are very impressed with how much she has grown as a student and hockey player.
PHA has taught her time management with her school work while developing a great work ethic toward hockey. The on-and off-ice training has challenged her to become a better hockey player. She is stronger and more confident than she has ever been on the ice.
We couldn't be happier with our decision to send her to PHA! She's excited to go to school, works hard, but also has fun while there!
Thank you, PHA, for everything you do for our kids!"
“We enrolled our son in Philadelphia Hockey Academy at the start of his junior year in August 2020.
After starting at PHA, not only does our son get to interact with his classmates in a warm and nurturing academic environment, but he is able to have rigorous and well-structured on-ice and off-ice training.
He also enjoyed the flexibility offered at PHA, and it allows him to be able to get his schoolwork done while developing his hockey skills and competing at a high level.
With the help of the great staff at PHA, he is finishing in the top 3% of his class with CCA.
PHA was the best decision we could have made for our son's growth and we feel he is well prepared for college."
"The Philadelphia Hockey Academy was a lifeline for both of our boys. Our boys have been able to thrive with their education, hockey skills, and socializing with their peers.
The CCA academic platform allows students to learn at their own pace and offers the support you would expect through the teachers and additional support through the learning coaches who are on-site with the students.
Our boys' hockey skills have grown tremendously in the short time they have been there, and they both made better teams because of the training they received.
There is a heavy emphasis on helping the community, mental well-being, and personal growth as a young adult to develop well-rounded students that thrive in hockey and life.
Our boys have made friendships that will last a lifetime!"
"PHA provides a rigorous but flexible learning environment for today's student-athletes. The academics are delivered through CCA, an online charter school, with live classes each day, ensuring students can continue progressing in their studies, even while traveling.
PHA encompasses multiple, daily on-ice sessions for the players to work on skills and dedicated gym time for off-ice development.
PHA has allowed our daughter to improve in all aspects of her game while learning organizational and time management skills facilitated by online learning. Thank you!"
"I wanted to formally reach out and thank you for everything this year. This was all new to all of us, and the transition was smooth, thanks to you.
Our son is eager to return in September! He enjoyed the family feel of school while having the freedom to make some decisions about his education and manage his time independently.
Honestly, thank you for giving him a great first experience of what school can look like for those that want to take a different approach. It’s looking like he may have finished with straight A’s as well; pretty impressive! I hope you all have a wonderful summer!"
